Walk
Privacy Policy
This covers what the Walk Android app does and doesn't do with your data.
What Walk collects
Walk collects no personal data. There's no analytics, no tracking, no cloud sync, and nothing is shared with third parties.
Where your data lives
Voice memos and walking summaries are stored locally on your device, and only there. Nothing you record or generate in Walk is transmitted to an external server. You can delete any of it at any time, from within the app or by uninstalling it.
Permissions Walk requests
Walk asks for a small number of Android permissions, each for one specific reason:
- Microphone — used only to record a voice memo when you choose to.
- Notification policy access — used only if you turn on the optional Do Not Disturb mode.
- Foreground service — keeps audio playing while your screen is locked.
- Post notifications — shows the notification for an active walking session.
Third parties
Walk doesn't share any data with third parties, because it doesn't collect any to share. This matches the Data Safety declaration on Walk's Google Play listing.
